Geraldine Casey is a floral artist from Tipperary, Ireland.
She attended the Limerick School of Art before studying an MA in Ceramics & Design at Central Saint Martins.
While at Saint Martins, Casey visited Italy and started creating ceramic illumination boxes. With these boxes, she observed how light and shadow create mood, which prompted memories of growing up surrounded by nature in Ireland, arranging flowers in her mother’s flower shop.
After graduating from Central Saint Martins, Casey worked for Villeroy & Boch tableware, but always more drawn to the natural world, she soon began working with plants.
After a chance meeting with the artist Raqib Shaw, Casey soon became the creative director of his now legendary flower festivals. She also designed Shaw’s many gardens and created installations for his exhibition openings in London, Manchester, and New York.
Casey continues to work as a garden designer while collaborating with artists to create immersive installations inspired by her love of flowers and plants.
